Holy Days: Winter Solstice Restorative Practice

Quiet your mind and dive deep into stillness with this 2 hour Winter Restorative practice from the comfort of your own home. This is an annual practice, with an online variation to the offering this year.

In contrast to the chaos and consumption of the holidays, Solstice is a celebration of the darkest, longest night. It is in the darkness that we are best able to adjust our eyes and tend to the Light within. It is in the stillness that we sense our deepest knowing. It is in the silence that we hear the messages from our Source.

the light has lingered, and is now gone. but tomorrow, it will return a little longer than today.

Restorative yoga is a practice focused on Sukha: ease. This is achieved through an intelligently established sense of stability. To this end, we use props: blankets, pillows, and scarves or straps to support the body in order to invite a well-aligned release and sense of spaciousness. A full bodied yes. It is pure pleasure. This type of practice is accessible for most bodies, and has remarkable benefits that linger. Once you have touched a sense of inner peace, you know it is in there always. By visiting that space more frequently, you ensure a more established path to find it in times of stress. In addition to the live practice, students have the option to download the practice and relive the experience as often as they like. No prior experience is necessary to enjoy the night.
